Terms of Use

By creating an account and using Fasting Buddies you agree to use the app responsibly, only as a companion to — not a substitute for — medical advice. Fasting carries health risks. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any fasting protocol, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, have a medical condition, or take medication.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime from Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled according to applicable consumer law in your jurisdiction.

You are responsible for the content you share with buddies and tribes. We may suspend accounts that harass other members or violate these terms.

Privacy Policy

Fasting Buddies is operated by Applation OÜ (Estonia). This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and sign-in method (email and password, or Google).
• Profile: display name, username, photo, bio, date of birth, country and city, whether you are single, and your fasting protocol, goals and buddy preferences.
• Health and wellbeing entries you choose to log: fasts, hydration, weight, mood and energy, journal entries (text and voice memos) and, if you use cycle-aware fasting, menstrual cycle information.
• Messages and media: direct and group chat messages, and the voice messages and photos you send.
• Location: only the country and city you enter, plus a map position for your city if you turn the map on. We never collect your precise GPS location.
• Purchases: which plan you have and its status. Payment details go directly to Google Play or the App Store; we never see or store them.
• Technical data: your device's push notification token, product usage analytics, and security logs.

The app asks for device permissions only when you use the matching feature: microphone (voice messages and voice journal entries), notifications, and photo or camera access (profile and chat photos). You can change these at any time in your device settings.

How we use it

To run the app: your account, matching you with buddies and tribes, chat and calls, reminders and notifications, and subscriptions. To keep the community safe, we may automatically screen chat messages for harmful content and review user reports. To understand which features are used so we can improve them. We do not use your data for advertising.

Health and wellbeing entries are sensitive. We use them only to provide the features you choose to use, on the basis of your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting entries or your account. Fasting Buddies is a wellbeing tool and does not provide medical advice.

Who can see your information

Your profile (name, photo, bio, city and country) is visible to other signed-in members. Messages are visible to the people in that conversation, tribe or caravan. If you turn on the map, your name, photo and city appear on it for other members. Your journal and your weight, hydration and cycle entries are private to you.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

We use the following processors to operate the service, each bound by contract to use your data only to deliver Fasting Buddies:

• Supabase: hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel: application hosting.
• RevenueCat: subscription management. Purchases are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, who handle your payment details directly.
• Resend: delivery of account and transactional emails.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivery of push notifications to your device.
• Stream and 8x8 JaaS: power in-app video and voice calls. Your display name and avatar (Stream) or display name and email (8x8 JaaS) are shared only for the duration of a call.
• PostHog: product analytics (for example, which features are used), tied to your account so we can improve the app. Not used for advertising.
• Mapbox: powers the optional buddy map.
• Sanity: delivers the articles, meditations and breathwork content.
• Google: optional sign-in with your Google account.
• Google Calendar: only if you connect it yourself, to sync call times to your calendar.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, download a copy of your data, or delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion removes your profile, health and wellbeing entries, messages, and uploaded photos and audio from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. If you are in the EU or UK you can also ask us to restrict or stop processing your data, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in Estonia, the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).

Age and security

Fasting Buddies is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and if you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
